Today, I'm being forced to use Microsoft Access. And I hate it. I've always hated Access; I find it's a rubbish piece of software, based on outdated standards and the like. It still uses VBA for Christ sake! I could understand if it were for prototyping, or for building a structure that will later be up-scaled to a SQL Server instance; but otherwise it's just a horrible, nasty thing.
I also hate the Messaging App on Windows Phone, never connects - doesn't even try half the time.
This has got me thinking, what software(s) do you guys hate? VENT PEOPLE, VENT!

I'm having a hard time remembering which software I hate because I seldom continue using software I don't like and instead drop it and find a better alternative. No reason clogging my memory up with the crap versions...
I can agree about Access to an extent... I kind of remember it being shit, but again, really didn't bother with it because of it. No reason to really scream and kick about it.
Really one would only need to vent about those pieces of software they're forced to use. And I'm assuming that's the case for you with MS Access. And actually in that case there is one...
Verifone's SIM dll used for communicating with its hardware and payment systems. Most poorly documented, poorly designed, awful piece of fucking shit in the world. Get this the .Net dll contains the definiton for ONE class. This class has about 100 different properties and about 10 functions. You set a select number of the properties (about 10 to 20), no more, no less, and call a function pertaining to the task you want to perform.
This ONE object will be used for communicating to any Verifone card-slider device, it will be used to communicate with any one of their 5 payment systems, configurations, EVERYTHING. I describe it as a giant light board that you just randomly flick lights on and off into a specific state to make it do completely arbitrary things.
Best part... the documentation does not explain what every property is, nor does it tell you which ones are needed to perform each task. They just assume you know.

You could always build a facade to make your job easier.

That's actually what I did.
It took a bit of work though because I didn't know how everything was supposed to work, because the documentation sucked balls.

My boss raves about Joomla. Never actually used it myself. I think I'll take your opinion over my bosses.

Oh my.
For my first programming class I was forced to use Visual Basic .NET. That was... the worst. Hated it.
Now we're supposed to use DreamWeaver for my college-level IT course, but I'm still able to produce some amazing work using notepad++ so I get by without trouble. We're moving onto game design, though. For that we have to use this software called Scratch. It's about as high-level as it gets... I don't see why my college-level course that cost $350 to get into is teaching skills for software that you would NEVER see in the business world. Whole thing is a scam.

I was reading your post and thought you were going to say Flash, or Unity... but Scratch? FUCKING SCRATCH?
Those are the kinds of moments in school when I'd stand up on my desk, scream very loudly about how shit the school is, then pull out my dick and piss on the nearest persons head.
They tried expelling me a lot...
... I dropped out, I showed them!

Sounds like you beat them to the punch on the expelling bit...

I've never really been happy with that class. I've learned to just do the project for 5 minutes (that's all the time it takes me to complete it) and then spend the rest of my time either placing bids on vWorker or browsing DreamInCode.

Windows. I just got stuck using it for several hours this week. I feel like I've aged more than a year.

I can't stand Visual Studio. I realise it is a very useful tool, but whenever I use it, I have flashbacks to VB6 and other Microsoft crimes against humanity.
