When I double-click folders in Windows Explorer to navigate through my computer, the click sound only plays part of the way through. It seems to be cut off in the middle of the sounds playing.

What is happening and how can I fix it?

Verify the .wav file is being played (ie hunt down the actual sound clip, play it, and make sure you are being cut off)... update your audio drivers... see if something else is piggy backing on that click event... kill any extra processes... get more ram.. etc..etc..etc.
