When to use "var" over implicitly declared variables?

Posted 12 May 2012 - 04:43 AM

Im fairly new to ASP.Net MVC3 (but not to programming) and currently been reading stuff and learning by myself.
My question now would be when to use "var" over Lists etc?

what are the advantages/certain instances/standards when to use "var"?
