I agree that TheNewBoston is a very nice resource for new developers. He explains things with simple examples, and newbies love their video tutorials. What's wrong with that?
Does a new programmer (one that doesn't know a single programming language) care about intricacies of corner cases and whatnot? No of course not. He just wants to print "hello world" and feel good; and that's OK. We all started out somewhere.
Someone with prior programming experience in another language will obviously prefer a short to-the-point book instead of long videos.
