I am hosting a little website in my home network. I bought a domain name a year ago from godaddy and used that name to access my webserver. I decided to buy a new domain name and use this one instead, so I went to godaddy and deleted all the dns recrods pointing to my webserver and applied them to my new domain so it would point. if I type in my domain name in the url bar it works perfect, but when I google my site it still show the old url with the old domain olddomain.com. I know it takes time for updates but it has been over 3 weeks and it is still showing results for older domain. Is it something I am doing, any advise would be useful.
Cheers and thank you

Run that by me again?
You have a different host, than godaddy, for your site..
you have domain name A pointing to that site.. you bought domain name B.. and can't get that pointed to your site?

on my home server (just a plain home network) I have a websever. I bought a domain name, a.com, a year ago and pointed it to my home ip address which then port forwarded it to my web server. Now I decided to get a new domain name because I didnt like the old one (a.com) so I bought b.com. I bought all these domain names from godaddy. Anyway I deleted the dns records from godaddy that had anything to a.com and now it points to no ip address and is useless. I now made b.com point to my ipaddress to access my webserver. If I type b.com in the url it works beautifully, but in google searches it still shows a.com as active and nothing on b.com

Ah.. well depending on how you site was setup, traffic, like terms, etc.. it might take some time.
Have you tried submitting the site to google directly?

I thought for certain the elephant shooting would be the final nail in the coffin that is GoDaddy. Yet the horned beast progressing forward.
