so my professor asked me to build a system that has both lecturer and student login using XML

how do i do that? and the login system must be separate meaning that, if I log into a lecturer's account, I can act as an admin in the system (controlling all the tasks etc), otherwise if in student's account, I can only do several things only.

How do I do it in XML? Do i have to combine it with PHP or some other scripting language?
