Testopia/Bugzilla configuration

Posted 31 May 2012 - 10:50 AM

Anyone got a working install of Testopia? I'm trying to set something up, I've got bugzilla 3.9 and 4.current up and running, but I can't get either to show me Testopia, I'd like to review my setup.

One specific question: the install instructions for Testopia have you dropping an assload of .cgi files in the top-level directory of your Bugzilla install. This seems wrong to me. Am I correct to be suspicious of this? Do I need to modify my apache settings to deal with this weirdness?

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Okay, scratch that, I've sorted it.

I noticed that the testopia files were owned by me, so I chowned them to root and ran the checksetup script again, that seems to have done it.

Running checksetup should set the permissions on all the appropriate files. Rather than having them owned by root, it is advisable to create a bugzilla group and add yourself to it so it only has permissions to your bugzilla files and not the rest of the system.
