For those out of the loop - the Diamond Jubilee marks sixty years of Queen Elizabeth II in power.
I understand Saturday was a bit hectic - so who's there? Who's in the know? Can we get some DIC on the ground to report the awesomeness of this?
There doesn't quite seem to be the fervor like the royal wedding over here in the US.. or maybe I just glossed it over with a 'what-evs'...
I heard there's been some music:
A gala concert kicks off at Buckingham Palace on Monday evening with Sir Elton John, Sir Paul McCartney, Dame Shirley Bassey, Sir Cliff Richard and Sir Tom Jones heading the line-up, along with younger artists
A somewhat symbolic irony - burning invasive species in honor? Ha!
I heard Canada got the week off work... Naw.. probably not.
Over course quite a bit of this is marred by the money spent when others are poor or ill fit for work... but that's why you have royalty - to provide an excuse to party, amirite?
