In my original post, I missed the second "a". He apparently hit the "Quote + Reply" button right after I fixed it.

And, yes, I realize I could have pretended it didn't happen and allowed him to look like a moron, but he's doing quite a job of that all on his own.

Yeah, I actually think that makes it even funnier. He tries to call you out for a typo and ultimately fails, but "whether" slipped past his keen eye...

Every time I see this argument it strikes me that arguing with someone's spelling is, in itself, so trivial a thing that it effectively concedes every other point that might be at issue, if any point were at issue. And if one's only point is that one's interlocutor has fat-fingered the keys in some fashion, it's a pretty damning concession...
