[link] PHP Database Access: Are You Doing It Correctly?

I just picked up PDO a few days ago for a project from my brother in law.. yeah.. stupid easy and streamlined!

Bottom line: if you’re still using that old mysql API for connecting to your databases, stop. Though it hasn’t yet been deprecated, in terms of education and documentation, it might as well be. Your code will be significantly more secure and streamlined if you adopt the PDO extension.

When I was first writing in PDOs rather than mysql_* functions, the only thing I didn't really like about it was that there were limited tutorials and other resources on the web compared to the mysql API. That's where it stops. PDO is miles superior to mysql_* in every way, it wins hands down.
