Cant stop horizontal scroll

Posted 04 June 2012 - 08:18 PM

I don't even know where to start.

I have way to much chaotic code on one page and now my page is broken. for the life of me I cant figure out what is going on.

The page will scroll horizontally which I don't want it to do.

The page works fine on Safari and Chrome. Just not Firefox.

I tried a few different things like
overflow-x:hidden;

I set the width I want it to be, Stopped repeat background.

Well here it is if anyone has any idea to what I'm doing wrong.

You have an element called "stripNav0" which is set to a width of 7620px. This is what is causing your horizontal issue. Being that it is really too wide it makes the browser put on a horizontal scroll bar.

This element looks like it is part of your coda slider and is being added dynamically. This means you won't see it in your traditional view source of the page.

So either you can figure out why the Code slider is putting in a div that wide or you can target the div with a CSS style and set its width to zero. If you set its width to zero the slider will continue to work... from what my tests show me.

Below is a screen shot of the source and the bad code...

Thanks so much for your response. I will try it as soon as i get to work. I saw that and I didn't want to touch it.
I am a complete noob to Javascript and JS libraries.
That was the exapmle they gave so I went with it. Honestly I hate working with other peoples code. Whenever I do I find myself very unorganized. I will let you know if changing the width on this will remove the slide function.

I wonder why it works in every browser except Firefox?..

Hey Martyr,
This is an old thread but cant help but feel some sense of obligation when people put time and effort to help me out like you did.

So again thanks for the help, I decided to get rid of the coda slider and just use good old Javascript instead of a library. It is much easier and I can actually understand what is going on.

because I don't know Javascript well I assumed a library would be easier for me so it could do all the work with only a few lines of code on my end.
Turns out it just makes me more confused because I understand it even less.

Here is the site still under construction.

Now I have to work on the contact page.
