Simple animations in a game

Posted 06 June 2012 - 04:39 AM

Just wondering if someone could help with some code for simple animations on a background.(for a 2D isometric game) im not that experienced with python but once i get some direction i can normally pick stuff up pretty quickly...

an example of a similar game would be crystal saga which is a 2d isometric flash game....

whether it's isometric or not make surprisingly little difference for basic animation. All you really need to do is put an animated sprite on top of a static background. Plenty of information on how to do that can be found here. Here's a map editor that can be used for creating isometric backgrounds. Let us know if you run into any problems!
