Yeah... though it is still courteous to throw in spoiler tags.. because that's what they are made for.

I completely understand the reason for them, and I think they are quite useful. However, the original point of this thread was for people who had seen the movie to discuss it. If I had failed to include that disclaimer in the threads title, it would be completely appropriate to include spoiler tags for material that might be too revealing. If someone goes into a thread that includes the title Spoilers Welcome and has part of the movie spoiled for them, well I think that is their own fault.

True, it may not be the most courteous way to go about things. We are in the lounge though, breeding ground of the anti-courteous. If it makes you feel better though, i'll use them.

Just in case you guys missed that one :)

It left too many open questions for me, plot wise. I suppose it'll all be explained in the sequel, Prometheus 2: The Quest for More Money.

I gotta agree with modi123_1 here, the movie was a steaming pile of Lucas. I'm surprised Adrian Brody wasn't in it. Here's some of the egregious screw-ups I noticed:
Spoiler

All I can say is, what they saved on the script, they spent on Charlize and Guy. Happy bank balance Ridley, from now on I'll be spending the usual zero dollars for torrents of any future movies you make.

I started taking those smirks as trollface emotes. It made a more satisfying subtext.

So even though you're sure they're going to be bad and not worth your money, you're going to watch them anyways?

Sure.. bad movies have a nature unto their own.. just not a theater nature. 'Freddy got Fingered' - not big screen worthy, but defiantly late night TBS worth.

The fun will be to see how schlocked the Bladerunner sequel/prequel/re-image will be in 2014.

Big disappointment. The guy I work with who is also into scifi came in this morning, "I want to tell you, don't bother." "Too late." "Damn." On the up side, we did have a great time trashing the horrid, derivative, mess.

Spoiler

I'd add more, but, never mind. It's bad. Like Mystery Science Ed Wood bad. The good reviews? Those bastards were paid off.

Well, I'll be happy to admit that I didn't know much about this movie and didn't know that it's supposed to be some kind of Alien prequel. While I'm okay with the Alien movies in general, I never paid to go see one.

These two data points indicate the probability of me going to see this movie is as near to zero as one can get.

Thank you all indeed for the spoilers. I'll end up seeing this movie sometime I'm sure...but when it's maybe $4.99 on Vudu or something.

it was a big dumb summer movie that started off with some interesting questions and then turned into a well-done friday the 13th.

it was fine, i enjoyed myself. i'll just forget all about it by the end of the week.

Yeah yeah.. but girl bits are SOOOOOOOOO complicated.. you know, down there. Guy bits are just straight forward.. like a gun! Bang, bang! Would you like to blow the smoke from my barrel because you are totally now a mom of an alien baby! You're tots welcome! Now (*stretch*) it's time for me to be hitting the dusty trail.
