I finally saw Prometheus. I'm now completely confused as to why you guys hated it so much. I went in with completely low expectations after reading all the posts here, and I absolutely loved the movie (apart from running in the path of the rolling doughnut). To me, it actually didnt feel like a movie though, as there was no character development and not much info other than what the characters talked. So I took the movie as an actual recording of some event, kinda like a 'Making of..'.
So yeah, I loved the movie with all the gory scenes, felt angry when they killed Charlize Theron's character - I can watch that walk all day long - and liked the Captain's character. 4 stars out of 5 from me.

I rewatched Alien yesterday. My memories of that movie were much fonder then my impressions watching it now.
Alien was not a good movie. The crew suffered from the same stupid.

but if i remember correctly that crew got into the stupid on accident instead of searching it out like this crew.

True. I had completely forgotten about the part where they try to scooby doo the alien (break into groups and hunt for the monster who will turn out to be an old white dude in disguise), really Ridley Scott...really?

This is always the best option.
Yeah, 'Ridley Scott got diddly squat' killed the last bit of expectation I had! I went to the very last showing. The changed the movie the next day.

Lol. I have a 10 hour bus journey tonight. Ample time for me to think and ruin the movie!
BTW, I have a doubt. What happened to that Irish doctor chick? The engineer alien shoved her and she fell to the ground a couple of feet away and disappeared from the rest of the movie!
