Help to choose language.

I have learned a little java and C in school and college.I wanted to do some GUI programming for windows.Please suggest the easiest language for creating GUI programs for windows.I want to start with very easy programs.For example,input a no. and its square will be given as output.

Best bet for simple Windows Gui's is C# or VB.Net (probably C# with your C and Java experience) with Winforms and then moving to WPF for more complex GUI's.

Or of course you could just stick with Java and use Swing.

Is Visual studio good for making GUI applications easily?Does it support java and C#?

Yes Visual Studio is very good at making GUI's.

It does not support Java, just C#, Vb.Net, C++ and F#.

If you want to go down the Java route then make sure you don't get a GUI editor. They are horrible creations. Instead learn how to code it from scratch in any IDE of your choice (or Notepad or whatever).

C# Station is pretty good

But in all seriousness, you can't beat a good book.

Can you suggest me C# ebooks for absolute beginners?The link you gave refers to so many books.Can you tell me which one is the easiest?
