Hello,
I'm looking for programmers to help me create an Action/Adventure game.
Medieval setting, main feature is easily switching between weapons and elements.
To avoid redundancy and follow the SRP, I'll post a link to the page where everything is described: http://www.moddb.com/jobs/re-games.
Said site is lacking in programmers, I figured I'd visit some more closely related boards.

Everyone is going to ask: What is the pay range?
If you're going to say
That comes up here 20 times a week. You can probably expect only students looking for practice to respond. Anyone worth hiring you'd actually have to hire.

Since the tread title says volunteer, i suspect it's not a paying job
For the OP: The link to the moddb site is broken. Remove the last period and it will work.

Thanks. Is there any way to edit a post? I can't seem to find the button.
To the other person with the strange name. It is indeed a non-paying job, and I am indeed looking for people such as students who would like practice.

Hmmm, from what i read new members cannot change their posts, and existing members have a rather small window of opportunity (between 15 minutes and a day) to change the content of their posts.
Under what license will the game be distributed when it's finished by the way?

@Joop: Ah, that is a good question. I figured it more important to have a game that's nearing a stage that it can be tested before bending my head around legal issues. Perhaps I'm wrong in that though; do you have a source with license types where I can check what most fits my needs?
@tlhIn`toq: Sorry, I meant, 'person with the name I can't seen to pronounce properly'. Admittedly, on the internet, we -all- have strange names.

Well, the first question you'll have to ask yourself (and the other contributors naturally!), is how you wish to distribute the game to the public. Examples could be:
- For sale on steam
- Free, but closed source
- Open source
And so on. Naturally other things can also influence the choice of license. For example if you decide to borrow code from a GPL'd project there's a very good chance you will have to put your project under the same license.
You seem to have quite a big team on board according to the page you linked, very nice! Do you have stuff to show off, like concept art, early screenshots, music or something like that?

For sale on stream, as well as what'cha call it? 'donationware'? Free to download, but any form of donation is welcome. It seems to be a pretty solid marketing plan in the indie-branche.
Most likely this will result in becoming open-source as a natural extension, but it's undecided as of yet.
Yes, there's a bit of concept art and music to show off. Check www.re-games.com/forum for their respective topics (Sound&Music, and Art). I'm afraid you can only read the first post of every topic, I'm reluctant to post assets publicly without having a proper site or reputation to back it up. All in due time~

Yeah, i noticed those forums too, and indeed i also got hit by the logon screen. Maybe you can post a couple of the nicest works in this tread? I'm sure it would attract people (like me
) to your cause.
And as far as i am aware you'll have to sell a game if you want it to be placed on steam. And if you have to pay a donation in order to play a game it's not really a donation anymore, right?

Donation on own site, an appropriate price (most likely between 5 and 15$) on steam. We'll make do with what we have~.
Also, that's an interesting point you make, I didn't think about putting up art/music/stuff along with job offers. I'll ask my artists to create a mockup for a title screen or "poster", so to speak. That would surely draw some attention.
