As well as netbooks.

As I said, my brother has the usb dvd-rom for his computer IF he needs a disk he's got it.

And he's the farthest from tech savvy if I were to say so. This is his first computer he owned himself (not a shared computer with the rest of the family). It didn't confuse him much at all... plug it in, and go.



Also, "Pro" is in the name of it, so one could say it's directed towards a professional user... :P

I gotta prep my OS/2 Warp installs!

Though with a questionable amount of doctor bills coming down the pipe I may have to hold off on dropping the hammer and picking a Surface Pro up right away. Stupid doctors.


edit: that razor edge does look pretty. The glowie back thing.. full on pc gaming orientated.. and nifty accessories. I can see it now - people with both hands on the joystick getting hit by cards because they gotta grind out more Dishonored.. ha.

That looks pretty nice. Although the battery life (or lack of) could be interesting though.

Yeah, the battery life of the Surface is really poor. Also, the reviewer from the Verge mentioned something that I've heard other people say too. He said there's really not a good way to use it on your lap with the keyboard. I've also heard that from some people that own the RT. I've also decided I'm going to hold off for a while to see how Razer's stacks up, and because I'd like to buy a house this year, going to save my money.

bought a pro 64GB today. All of the 128s were sold out. Ended up mapping my drives to network attached storage and the sd card slot. Bought it primarily as an at home dev machine and something to have for meetings at work.

Seems to be powerful enough. Already had an issue when booting and ending up with a blank screen... That was fun.

Seems sturdy. Is a pain when on the couch and trying to use on the lap but you can put something underneath it to lift the middle on your lap and it is perfectly fine there. I use my wallet.

Screen is beautiful but some icons/pngs/etc display oddly and look horrible.

I can play eve online from the sd card and dev on it perfectly fine. The keyboard is fine as well. Haven't missed a key on it yet which I thought I would because of the size.

That video won't sell it to crowd like this, "OHH SHINNY BOX THING! OOHHH, IT COMES IN PINK!!"

If it can function just like a laptop then yeah, it will just depend on the price.
But that keyboard looks like crap.

Oh, and I have yet to learn win8, and I don't want to.

Win8 is pretty nice.

I've been using it since release and have loved every moment of it.

I bet it'd be even better in a touch screen environment.
