No, it's just us two posting pointlessly when everyone else has left the thread long ago. It's obvious I'm just seeing how many times you'll reply.

Oh dear boy, 1) that was a statement directed at someone else, and 2) I can post forever. It's not like coming on here and spending 1 minute commenting in a forum I spend my entire day on while at work is very difficult.
If I wasn't posting here, I'd be posting two threads down... Oh I am there as well.

I am really really really hoping MS throws in some socks. I want to go all 'Seeley Booth' with my funky socks and my black suit.

Due to my phobia of socks I both love and hate that image.

Or better yet, closer to the topic.
So with the Pro version, does anyone have a concern that you'll have to network this thing to install anything you have on Disc. Or at the very least, copy to a flash drive. I'm just thinking a slot dvd would have been a nice feature on the pro.

Or grab a usb dvd-rom.
My brother has one for his netbook. They're pretty common now a days.
Personally I've barely needed any CD/DVD-rom in the last 7 years I'd say. I digitally download everything now a days, and I virtual-drive most disk images.
Why up the price (and take up more space) in the thing if I'm not going to need it... and if I did I could get it 1 of many different ways. (usb drive, usb stick, networking, etc)
I think a device like this, and most computers now a days, are designed to be wi-fi capable and connect to networks in a flash. The only time this is an issue is at OS install time (covered by usb port).

I'm with LOD on this one. I rarely use my DVD drive as it is; I'd rather have a USB one so that it doesn't take up more space. I'm willing to bet that thing is so full they wouldn't be able to have been able to fit a slot loader in that.

It's not that I disagree but don't you guys think that will limit the Pro to a higher-end (tech-wise) market? Not even sure that's a bad thing but in the eyes of selling tablets, it would seem that it would be limited sales. It just seems to me that making it a laptop replacement for the general public would seem to require an interface that the general populous is familiar with.
I guess this is just something that sticks out in a "tablet" that allows you to put more than just canned apps on it. Hell, it may just be that I'm dealing with an older age group. After all, kids today are born with smart phones it seems.

But see, a lot of ultrabooks are being sold without DVD drives as well. Same for the MacBook Air. DVDs are really falling out of favor. Plus, portable USB DVD drives are quite cheap. It really is a non-issue.
