Learning curve

Hey guys the names Luke , 24 .. Married with 2 little monsters .

I have been learning c++ through books and Internet ... Always new stuff to learn . I have been looking at getting a game development kit and so far I have had my eye on Torque 3d , has anyone had good things with this one or should I be looking elsewhere ?
