Why doesn't Firebug show Ajax requests when Google loads data?

Posted 20 June 2012 - 09:08 AM

Hi, as we all know, Firebug shows all Ajax exchanges taking place between the server and the client (fire up Firebug with Facebook, and it will promptly be flooded with details of Ajax requests, in line with all requests FB makes to give us those notifications). However, when Google shows the suggestion box in response to one or two characters we are inputting, or when we drag the map in Google Maps to load more data, even though both are fetching data through Ajax, it doesn't show up in Firebug. Can anyone explain why?

Open up Firebug, click on the Console tab, then dropdown the arrow on the Console tab. Make sure you've got "Show XMLHttpRequests" ticked. That's the only reason I can think that you wouldn't be seeing the requests fire. Well, you could have Javascript disabled too I guess lol.

No, I have got everything in the right place, that's why I am able to see the Ajax requests for other pages. But Google Maps, or Google, I can't see any.
