Whereas Sony insists that using it's proprietary software will get the files off of my ICD-P digital voice recorder, Digital Voice Editor 3.3 fails to recognize the device. All of the drivers that I have are up to date. I greatly desire help in this matter. Thank you.

What OS are you using it on? If Windows - does it show up in the system hardware as a running driver?

It does not show up on Windows as a running driver. It does not receive recognition by any system process. The device itself, when connected (via USB) displays the message that it is connected none the less.

Never mind. I just transferred the files directly using the Sound Recorder function in Windows and an audio auxiliary cable. Instructions here: sony help thing.
