I keep trying to click on the C++ Tutorial "Behind The Scenes - How C++ Classes Work : Part I" and I am continuously being redirected to a Malware Detected! page which states:

www.dreamincode.net contains content from www.sitevip.net, a site known to distribute malware. Your computer might catch a virus if you visit this site.

Google has found malicious software may be installed onto your computer if you proceed. If you've visited this site in the past or you trust this site, it's possible that it has just recently been compromised by a hacker. You should not proceed, and perhaps try again tomorrow or go somewhere else.

I am on Google Chrome browser. What's the deal?

EDIT: Apparently, this doesn't always happen as I was able to get onto the page once. Perhaps when an ad banner for www.sitevip.net is on the page that's loading, google halts the page from loading and redirects. Don't know. Thought I should post something like this, though.

This is also happening with "Data Flow Processing Implementation Example". Both topics were started by Martyn.Rae. Is it possible that there is a link to sitevip.com in his signature?

That user doesn't have any links in his signature. It's most likely an ad on the site. Best way to avoid anything like that is to either get DIC++, which removes ads from the site, or use third party software like Ad-Blocker.

Thanks for letting me know, Curtis. Unfortunately, I'm on my work computer and can't install any software on it (I'm just an intern). I don't seem to have a problem loading any other pages here (including tutorials). So far, it is just the 2 listed above. Oh, also l "Behind The Scenes - How C++ Classes Work : Part II"

From the source. It's in his avatar. Also blocked by adblock, which runs fine on chrome.
You might be able to install chrome despite having your machine locked down, their installer is pretty slick.

Oh, I'm already using Chrome. I'm interning as Software QA so we basically have all the mainstream browsers pre-installed (Chrome, Firefox, IE9, Safari). I'm wary of bypassing the blocker as I'm pretty new here, and an intern to boot.

EDIT: Using Firefox seems to clear up the problem for me. But I wonder if others using Chrome are experiencing this as well.

We discovered the same thing, Jon. We've removed the avatar, so you should be able to browse the page without any more security warnings.

So just install the adblock plugin - that shouldn't be a problem at all. Talk to your boss, tell 'em you want to QA under ordinary-user conditions, and most users run adblock, so you need to install it.

Actually, I just tested in Chrome, that's exactly what it was (avatar). I'll keep using Chrome to continue my QA of avatars
