I've always loved the hardware side a little more, myself. But the software side is more accessible to learn about and work with... so here I am on a programming forum learning mostly about just that. Languages of choice: C++ and C#. Currently trying to make small games in XNA.
There's not too much sports wise that I really care for, I mostly fall into the stereotypical computer/book/science/ loving not too physically active geek category.
I've been here since late '09. I wasn't that active until the past year though. Mostly just browsed the site.
And yea, xbox and ps3(by the fault of Demon's Souls) both. What games do you have or are thinking of getting?

Yep. And yea, I found it helpful to have read things for a little bit and get a feel for the community. I don't have any of the games you've got so far, but if/when you get MW3 I do have that. Lets see.. possible suggestions.. Racing games I don't really play much aside from a very small amount of time on Forza, so can't help you there. If you end up liking GTA 4 then you could look into L.A. Noire. I haven't played it myself, and it's one of those things people either like or don't, but it's by the same people and is somewhat similar. In that your a detective back in 1947 solving crimes. Also by the same company, Red Dead Redemption - GTA in the old west.
Some of my favorites are: Assassin's Creed; the Prototype series (it has it's flaws but still good games) - basically, virus gets spread, you get infected and get a bunch of powers including consuming people and turning into them; If you have any interest in the batman universe, Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are two licensed games that actually DON'T suck, and are really good; Ninja Gaiden 2 is good, can be brutal at times though - stay away from NG3; Also look into both Alan Wake and Enslaved: Odyssey To The West and see if they appeal to you at all. Both are great, unique games that haven't got the hype they deserve. As for other shooters.. F.E.A.R series, Gears of War series, Left 4 Dead, Dead Space, Shadows of The Damned, and especially, Borderlands.
Sorry if that all was a bit too long. It's probably a good thing you didn't ask me about RPGs..

No problem. XNA works with C#. I never really looked into if you can use it with anything else though. Haven't gotten that great with it yet but I've made some small things.
