Running Website

Don't flame if this is in the wrong section!

I'm trying to setup a small website, which will run off my localhost for the time being, problem is, I'm using a laptop. Is there anywhere to make the website active from just my laptop running off the WiFi? If that makes sense.

I can't find the IIS on my laptop? Is it available for download at all?

By the way, I think IIS is inappropriate here, well at least you have to apply some rules, found in this link:

I did everything as the tutorial told me to, but for it still doesn't work. :( Maybe I was just never supposed to host from my laptop.

Any quantification on this? I mean really? what did you do? What isn't it doing? what is it doing? No one is there looking over your shoulder so being as verbose as possible on everything you did and what your machine is doing is helpful.

Depending on the site and what you want to run - IIS is pretty appropriate here. IIS (internet information service) is essentially your server portion. It is your 'Apache'... so unless we know more on what the OP is trying to run then let's not discount it based off some website you picked up.
