how to post a image into a thread?

what is the best method to post a image in to a thread?
i tried to upload image into a image sharing web and post link in insert image box,but that is not working.
error message display unsupported extension

In the editor there is an image tagger - three icons to the right of the smiley -emote icon. You would want the link (that ends in a image extension: jpg, jpeg, gif, tiff, png, etc) and post it in there..

You can also attach an image directly to your post. The image will be uploaded to D.I.C. You have to "Use Full Editor". You should see the option.

Also, if you're using the [img] tags, you have to make sure your link ends in a particular extension. JPG, PNG, GIF, etc...some image sharing sites don't give you a direct link, just a link to a page that contains the image.

Imgur will give you a BBCode link to copy if you upload there. You can just copy it there and paste it here.
