Html file to live website?

Posted 11 July 2012 - 01:23 PM

I am working on writing up an HTML document, and I had a particular thought.

How do you make an HTML document become a live website? (I do not mean file>open in a browser

Now I assume I'm going to need a host, and a domain name obviously, but from there, i'm completely lost.

for testing purposes you can set up a server on your own computer, which you would access via http://localhost/ or (for a live website) purchase some webspace (there are free ones too, but that usually means advertisements).

Absolute easiest way:

1. Create a DropBox account.
2. Save your .html file to your Public folder.
3. Copy the Public Share link to your HTML file.
4. Open it in a Web Browser.

Voila! Simple HTML hosting. :)
