So I am in a quandry as to which type of form is better? The reason is that there maybe a possiblity for a much higher paying job doign winforms but do you think that winforms will be going away in a few years? Currently everything I do is webforms -- you know asp.net with vb.net xml, sql, html, javascript code behind. So what are your thoughts?

WinForms is going away NOW - WPF is rapidly taking over and with Win8 is going to be the default.

Ive always been a proponent for new technologies but is making more money worth it if you are going into and aging technology..

I didn't understand whatever word you had in place of 'aging' with the 8 and other letters in it. It looked like some kind of cell phone SMS term. But I see you went back and edited it. Now it makes sense.
"Worth it" is a completely subjective concept. It may be 'worth it' to you but not the next guy. None of us can tell you what coding technology will make you happy.

lol ohh-- no I mean do you think it is a good idea to take a job that pays more that the technology is fading from or keep a lower paying job where technology is just starting to take off--- like or not like is not part of the scenerio

I think it is a good idea to take a job that you will enjoy.
I've worked for $100,000 in the mid 1990's when that was a lot - but I hated the job and was a total bear to live with. Even I didn't want to be around myself.
Now I make half that in the 2010's, but completely enjoy my job and have some wonderful perks that aren't about the net paycheck. I work from home for one. I travel to a lot of foreign countries that I could never afford to go see (at the company expense).
Working a job you enjoy means you can enjoy your life and the people in your life might actually like spending time with you.

I would also rather have a job I like and make less money than a high paying job that drives me around the bend. Money can't buy happiness but it can buy you an ulcer.
