Ah... I remember those boat packs! Was it a decent game? I dug what they were trying to do.. but meh..

I think it was Pirates, right?

Yep, that's the one. I found assembling the boats much more enjoyable than playing the game itself.. I personally just don't like games that rely heavily on RNG(Dice rolling). I miss my Shadow.. Stealing enemy gold was fun.. xD

Making the classic scorpions with staples

Waaah? Pictures! I demand them!

Make them yourself! Easy. Below is a picture of what they look like (sorry it is small, it is the only size I could find on Google image)

Attached Image

Pseudocode....

Get two staples
Put two staples back to back
Pinch both ends with your fingers
While pinched, twist them together.
Twist one end a little further so that it is perpendicular to the other side

The beauty of these little guys is that you can create a hand full of them and throw them somewhere. No matter how they land, they will land with their "tail" up. Great for the chairs of bullies you hate in school. They are great for car chases also where you can throw them on the road and pop their tires! They are great for those training in some secret kung-fu and is too chicken to pick up the boiling pot with their forearms. They can walk across these instead as a test of pain endurance.

Nerds unite!

Well weaker sure... but then again if you find some of those industrial strength staples used for stapling cardboard boxes in shipping, you could make some pretty bad ass ones.

;)

Magic TG, Pokemon, YuGiOh, legos, all of these things, Kinex was another big one... Sandbox is what I enjoyed the most, Digging up trenches with toy bulldozers, sticking the garden hose in a mountain of sand, Turning it on and watching the chaos. Linkn logs were awesome too....

Excuse me while I track down my tub of legos.

I'm a big fan of Bucky Balls myself. My brother and I used to have an enormous collection of Lego creations, though we ended up taking them apart and giving them away a few years ago.. I kind of regret doing that now..

Also, when I was in middle school, I was obsessed with some boat collection card thing.. You would buy a package a little thicker than the average deck of trading cards and would have pieces of a boat to assemble, and once you have an armada, can face off against someone else's armada. Each boat had their own durability, range, accuracy, etc. I got mad and ragequit that game after rolling crap time after time... Stupid dice... I'll try to find my collection and post it here.

Edit: This is what the game pieces look like:

I remember this game. Wasn't it just called Pirates or something like that? I have some of these ships at home someplace too.

As for my current toys, I've recently branched out from Star Wars Lego and now own a Lego Captain Jack Sparrow and a Lego Batman. For collecting toys, just about anything from the original Star Wars, none of the Clone Wars crap that you mostly get these days.

I used to have tons of sets of Legos and Megablocks. I am a HUGE Halo fan so I got the brilliant Idea to make an entire set of Halo vehicles out of the pieces.

As far as items that belong in the "toys" category of a store, the only vice I really have is Magic. Since I moved, I haven't bothered finding a group to play with, so they just sort of sit there.

Did WotC have some deal where you send in your real cards and they redeem them for virtual duplicates you then can use online to dual people in their game system?

They probably do. I prefer the real cards honestly. Maybe I'm just old-fashioned =p

I used to play with stuff like this as a kid. Not so much anymore. Haven't really played Magic since high school and college. No one around to play with.

Once my kids get a little older (you know, old enough to not choke to death or shove them up their nose) I wouldn't mind getting my buckets of legos from my parents house and giving them to my boys.

I keep a copy of SimCity 2000 on my drive here at work so when things are slow, I can play a bit and sandbox in a city.
