If you press caps lock does the led come on indicating the keypress?
If you remove the memory (before powering on), do you get beeps when the unit is turned on?
Have you tried hooking up a 2nd monitor?
Have you tried booting with the battery removed? What about just on battery, no ac adapter?
If you try each of these things & get no beeps, & no Toshiba splash screen, then one of the core components are dead : CPU, Bus (Mother board), or Memory. If any of these three items fail, the unit will not POST (Power On Self Test), & does not boot.

I'll try that soon, I've just tried pushing caps lock and no light comes on. I will hook it up to another monitor soon. I might be able to bring it somewhere to get it fixed because this fix seems well out of my skill zone.

If there are two sticks of ram you can try it one stick then the other stick.
If it still doesn't boot then signs are pointing to a dead motherboard. and yes those can be replaced and or repaired.
Let us know what you find.

How does it happen? Often times a student will set the laptop on a bed or on carpet, clogging the air ports, choking the fans. After long enough the amount of continually generated heat will blow something, normally the motherboard or the hard drive.
Cooling pads should almost be a requirement for some laptops.

if you go through these previously suggested steps, you can effectively troubleshoot your laptop display. If it doesn't POST, one of the core components (most likely the board as suggested by a few here) is non functional. If you need walked through the troubleshooting steps, then you likely will not be able to repair or replace it yourself.
You could call around to some local repair shops, get a quote, & let me know what they say. My shop maybe able to do it for less, but you would have to ship it to Ohio.
Sorry we can't help further.
