VB.NET 2010

Posted 26 July 2012 - 01:31 PM

I have some amateur experience in VB5.
I am learning VB.NET 2010.
I have no burning questions, since I am resolving issues by net search, books, and forums.
I am having difficulty with using an Access database with a VB.NET interface. My data seems to disappear.
But I figure that is due to jumping right in the minute I downloaded VB.NET 2010 Express. The examples worked in run time in the design environment but didn't actually update the Access database. So I suppose the examples as given in the little tutorial left a lot out for practical use. So I am not presenting anything as a question. I am just surveying these kinds of sites. I liked the site name, "DreamInCode."
Once upon a time, in the 1980's, I made programs for programmable calculators (TI-59 etc). HVAC stuff or custom jobs (horse racing), it was something like assembly language. Sometimes I dreamed in code.
Right now I present myself problems in terms of RolePlayingGame issues, keeping track of characters and critters, events, skills, inventory, and actions in time sequence with appropriate modifiers. Also making journal entries, character entries vs narrative (behind-the-scenes) entries and managing maps and other visuals.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

Welcome to Dream.In.Code FusionDude! Sounds like you need to head on over to the VB.NET forums and ask them what they can do to help with the database interaction. Show some of your code (with code tags please) and ask specific questions. I am sure they will help you in a jiffy!
