my uncle is a teacher and he asked me for an application that store the grades of his students

so far all my apps used mysql databases

but he asked for a portable application

i use vb.net and i think i must use embedded database for this

i am lost , and i have no idea how to do it

what database should i use

and how make it portable with the application

SQLite is portable. Uses local databases and all you need for it to work is to ship your program, your database, and the SQLite "engine" - the SQLite DLL. Can be used on Windows, Mac, Linux, and other OS's

also i could not find out which link should i use to download the database engine

Precompiled Binaries For .NET is the one I would download if I was using .NET

Next I searched google with "sqlite vb.net" and got tons of pages explaining how to setting it up and using it. Even some sample code!
