Posted 30 July 2012 - 08:04 AM

Hello,

I have a problem with my menu I can not put a bar on the right menu.
Here is a screen for that you could see better:
Posted Image
<td id="Icon" width="15"><img src="../image/test.gif"

                      class="Icon" height="15" border="0" width="15"></td>
                  <td id="NavItem" width="142">
                    <div class="firstMenu"> <a href="../test/test.html"
                        class="">test</a></div>
                  </td>

                </tr>
            </table>
					<img class="barre" alt="" src="../image/barre_bleu.gif"></a>
                      </a>

.firstMenu {
    color: #666666;
    font-weight: bold;
    margin-top: 8px;
}
table.leftMenu {
    vertical-align: top;
    width: 162px;
}
.leftMenuHome {
    padding: 1px 1px 5px;
    vertical-align: top;
    width: 155px;
}
.barre {
display: inline-block;
height:158;
width:5;
}

Thank you in advance.

have you tried putting the bar in one of the table cells, preferablly the first one. then use the row span.
<tr rowspan="5"/>

Try it out first.
Is this what you want to do.

I would consider going with an unordered list for menus, like so:

<ul>
  <li><a href="#">Text</a></li>
  <li><a href="#">Text</a></li>
  <li><a href="#">Text</a></li>
  <li><a href="#">Text</a></li>
  <li><a href="#">Text</a></li>
</ul>

...and using a border style in css to put it over there:

ul{
  border-left: 3px solid blue;
}

Something like that or did you have something else in mind?

Semantics and proper code now means hours saved in the long run patching hack togethers and older code. Fair warning.
