A few good portable books you could carry are Code Complete 2nd Edition and C++ Game Programming 3rd Edition.
The rest I keep on my kindle, a few of my favorites:

I guess I would have recognized it if the book recommendation were: The Art of Computer Programming, Volumes 1-4A Boxed Set.
