Hiho,

I’m encountering a strange (to me) issue concerning mod_rewrite within .htaccess files. as soon as I enable the RewriteEngine, all HTTP requests are answered with 403 Forbidden. if the RewriteEngine is off, there are no problems (beside the rewrite not happening (obviously)). Anyone an idea why that happens?

System:
- Mac OS 10.7.4
- Apache 2.2.22 (via MacPorts)
- AllowOverride All (in user.conf)


if you need more information, just ask (not sure what else you need)

PS. the same .htaccess file is working without problems on the public (linux) server, just my dev server has problems.
