Edit: Nevermind, figured out just to put static in front of my ball instance.
You'll find that running everything from main(), forcing a static context throughout your program, will significantly limit and/or complicate what you need to do in an environment that should contain multiple objects interacting with other objects. The remedy will be to learn how to program OOP, creating multiple instances of objects that have similar characteristics but different and independent behaviors.
The path you're on will be a good learning experience.
