hide checkbox

This only hides the checkbox, not the checkbox label "2=1"? How do I hide both the checkbox and its associated label?

<input name="ckbox[]" type="checkbox" id="2_1" style="display:none;">2=1</input>

Wrap it in a <span> and hide that.

btw. <input> elements are always empty (they do not have a closing tag)
