Main Menu Links not working on mobile phones or IPAD?

Posted 12 August 2012 - 06:16 PM

I built a website with basic HTML and CSS. There is nothing dynamic about this website. Zero programming involved. All links work fine on computers, but for some reason the main menu links on mobile phones and IPADS do not work. Any suggestions? The link to the website is here : http://webkagawa.com/example/bryan
Please ... do not suggest I create a mobile counterpart ... the client wants this website to function for mobile phones.

Heres the code for the main menu.

<div id="menu">
		<ul>
		<li class="active"><a href="index.html"  title=""><span>Home</span></a></li>
		<li><a href="schedule.html"  title=""><span>Schedule A Pickup</span></a></li>
		<li><a href="services.html"  title=""><span>Rates</span></a></li>
		<li><a href="about.html"  title=""><span>About</span></a></li>
		<li><a href="contact.html"  title=""><span>Contact</span></a></li>
		</ul>
	</div>

Hate to break it to you, but no links work on any browser I tried on Windows, Linux, and Android.

Probably because you are using relative links without using
<base href="YOUR BASE URL HERE" />

A mobile counterpart allows the webpage display properly.

If you're client wants the site to work on mobile devices then make it responsive. It don't have to be a separate counterpart because it's still the same page with media queries to apply different styles to different resolutions and types of devices. If you notice, none of the text above your "duckett delivery" is selectable. I don't know why this is being caused, but we do know it could be caused by screwing up some of your HTML tags above that point, or the styling for those elements.

Thanks guys. When I noticed the links were not working in firefox and chrome I realized it had something to do with the logo I added. Turns out I had the width for the logo set to 100%. A fixed width resolved the issue. Thanks again.

Hello,

I am currently experiencing the same problem as this.
I have just used safari's developer tool to inspect my ipad and the website once it is open, and the source code tells me that the links are formed using accurate syntax.

What was the solution?? I don't want to have to develope mobile interface!

Thanks
Angela

@Angela The OP's problem was caused by an image (a logo) that was sitting above his links. Yours is unlikely to be the same issue.

Please start your own new topic, but you'll need to provide more information than you are currently.
