Python 3.3 upgrade question

Posted 13 August 2012 - 12:31 PM

I read today that Python 3.3 is due to be released in early September if they are on time, and that some new modules are included which will make an application I have in mind much easier to do. Should I start it on 3.2.3 and then use the new stuff whena vailable or just wait? I also picked up a book that used Python 3.2.3 and PyQt4 and was wondering if anyone has ideas if PyQt4 will still work?

I could not find the information and am still in the Python learning stages as it is. I know you can have multiple versions installed side by side but if 3.3 will work I will just move ahead to stay current and remove 3.2.3 but if not then I guess I am confused.

Is This A Good Question/Topic? 0

This largely depends on you as an individual. If you do all you can and then have to shelve the application for 3 weeks, will you be able to pick up where you left off or will you lose interest?

I will still have interest since I actually have parties interested in using the program when it is complete but I am wondering if there will be compatability issues with my existing code of PyQt4 GUI with 3.3 since I could not find any information on the topic.
