What tools to use ?

Posted 17 August 2012 - 07:15 AM

Hello !
I have a small question . I have to create a small application that will probably have to access a database . The running platform will be Windows . Should I use C++ or C# ( both with SQL ) ?
Or do you have any other idea ?
Thanks .

Since it's Windows platform, another option may be MS Access with VBA. Just throwing it out there.

I'll take a loot at it :) I appreciate your contribution ^_^

EDIT: I took a look on wiki . I also want to improve my programming skills while working on this project project. So I'd rather go with C# since it's faster and I also want to learn it :)

I agree with modi, C# is the way to go, a lot easier to work with SQL in my opinion.

Thank you . That was another question of mine . Whether SQL goes better with C++ or C# :)

No problem! Just going off the criteria you posted, figured I'd throw out another option. C# will certainly do it though.

I hope I'll become a professional programmer someday (maybe a game programmer with a little bit of luck and lots of hard work ) so I'd rather have a real programming language :) But thanks .
