Coming from a C# background I always had to go through the pain of entity frameworks, I fell in love when I got a hold of ORM (Object Relational Mapping) in Ruby.

What frameworks are people using?

There's the most famous, Active Record, but it's heavily based in rails and meant for primarily Web Development.

Recently I've gotten into Sequel and I love it so far. I may do a write up on it later.

So how does everyone like to manage data? ORM or some other method?

These are NoSQL, but I've actually been using MongoDB, with the Mongoid gem. Lately, I've also been thinking of giving Redis another try, just to mess around.

DataMapper could be worse, but I don't have a lot to compare it to given my limited exposure to different ORMs.

Sequel is working wonders so far, and has become quite useful in pushing massive databases fast. Testing ~900 wireless antennas at $WORK can generate some pretty sizable quantities of data, now I can actually do something with it. Now onto graphing and charting with Ruby I suppose.

I should stop before I try and reinvent Nagios or its kin.
