Am I going about this right, with Lua?

I want to make a GUI framework, but I'm not entirely sure where to start. I am using C++ to code the framework, is this on the right track?

sure, wxLua uses a C++ framework to allow for GUI in Lua and it works quite well. A more dynamic GUI is interesting.
