Building Menu GUI in C++

Posted 21 August 2012 - 01:20 PM

Hi, I am just beginning to learn C++ and was wondering if it is possible to build a Menu type GUI in C++ using characters.

I do not mean a windows type format, but a simple text based layout in a DOS window, with a cursor menu select.

Could anyone point me in the right direction?

Many thanks! :blush:

Sure, but it might be cumbersome to code. There is a Windows function called SetConsoleCursorPosition which may be useful. Why do this in a console windows anyway?

Thanks for the tips, I will definitely investigate both!

The language has been chosen to be taught in a small course and I am trying to familiarize myself with C++ as I have previously used C# and VB.NET.
