In college I would sleep in my VB class, & a buddy would nudge me if a question was asked to me. I'd look at the white-board, answer the question, & go back to sleep.

I've felt this way as well when I took Intro to Java and AP CS in high school, and then when I was in Data Structures I for a couple weeks before testing out. I will say that I thoroughly enjoyed my AP CS class because my teacher knew his stuff and gave us interesting problems. He was a cool guy that I still keep in touch with.

I had a VB class. Always went the extra mile to try to impress my teacher. It didn't work because she barely knew the language. Usually it resulted in multiple lines of beautiful code being written over with copy/pasted spaghetti code just so that I could pass the class. Same thing happened when I was put in her web development class, but that's sorta my fault for not knowing she's running internet explorer 6 on a 800x600 resolution monitor, so some CSS didn't exactly work as intended.

Point is, you'll get an A if you just follow the course. Just do the work for the first 5 minutes and then spend the rest of your time working on your own projects or browsing dreamincode.
