I'm fairly new to learning about databases and database management. I'm not a total newb, I know how to set up a database and query for certain things but I'm trying to learn more about databases and how professionals use them. Basically what the business pace is of using them. I have found simple tutorials for all the major types of database management software's that are our there but I need more then just intro stuff at this point. Does anyone have any sort of practice that I can do to really understand this more? or any books? tutorials?
Thanks,
Stew

Sure.. there's plenty of good books on 'Database Management'... I do believe Murach's book on MSSQL 2012 covers this in a few chapters.. as does something like this:
