Hello everybody,

I'm a newbie in PHP. Now , with the installation of xampp from http://www.apachefri...g/en/xampp.html, I start learn a PHP from php.net. Now i'm also found a php framework like Codeigniter and Zend framework that its attract me to learn. I just want your advise who have a many years experience in PHP and using those framework. Following below is the my question.

1) What the different using Framework and Zend?
2) Because i learn for work ( I'm fresh graduated and still not get a job), between Zend and Codeigniter, which is more widely used by most company and why?

Learn neither. What you should be doing right now is just using PHP and becoming proficient in that. Once you can read through a framework and understand it and how all of it's functions work completely, you can use it. The point of a framework is to speed up development process, but a lot of people quickly become dependent on them because they are unable to do the coding the framework does for them.

That being said, I find both are very valuable assets and will definitly be a plus for you to know. Why not learn both? If you need to pick one to start with, I'd choose CodeIgniter. That's just based off me hearing good things about it though.
