Get ID of the Active Tab Panel

In my page, I have used the tab from the ajaxcontrol toolkit.

I want to get the ID of the active tab panel from my javascript function. Can I do this?

Is there something like

document.getElementByID("<%=tabcontainerid.ClientID%>").value


that I can use?

I need to get the ID of the currently active tab so that I can use it in my validation.
