Nvidia for graphics, something beefy with a hefty chunk of VRAM (Software more and more seems to like to roll over to VRAM from RAM, otherwise, it rolls to CPU and slows the computer.

for CPU, I have a preference for AMD as I have consistently seen AMD outperform Intel with games.
Something chunky but keeps it affordable for you.

First off, I recommend amd usually because of cost to performance ratio.

Otherwise I'd recommend the fx-8150 or fx-8350 depending on which one is better priced. This is the motherboard I'd go with for this cpu.

According to this benchmark though the i5 3470 is better than the fx-8350. So if you don't mind paying few extra dollars you probably should go with this one.

As far as graphics go, that 7950 is a pretty amazing card and if you shop around you could probably get it for $300. Nvidia cards and radeon cards are on a case by case as far as performance except when you're talking the gtx 690 and 680 I believe (which are beyond most people's price range anyway).

I would definitely get a small to medium ssd for your os, like an OCZ vertex 4 of either the 64gb or 128 gb size. Then a 7200rpm 1tb of regular hdd for storage.

With RAM I would recommend just making sure that you get as high of megahertz as your cpu and motherboard will support without overclocking and 8 gb should cover just about anything you can throw at it.

First of all, I would get the AMD 7870 for your graphics card. For processor, get the I5-3550p. There is no performance difference, and you don't need integrated graphics when you have a graphics card. For your motherboard, the asrock is good, and for the psu, get the seasonic.

This site has monthly updated cpu recommendations at different pricepoints, as well as a lot of other computer related things. http://www.tomshardw...eview-overclock,3106.html
