Appserv localhost problems

I dont know where to post this but since its about web development i posted it here

my problem is i cant put up the website and i dont know why the localhost cant be access since i put the web files in the right folder which is the wwww folder.

the error.
Not Found

HTTP Error 404. The requested resource is not found.


how will i assure that the localhost is activated or working properly?

any help would be appreciated.

www directory? are you using Wamp? If yes look at your taskbar, a WampServer icon should be there. If it's green, then your server is up with no problems. If not, maybe you have a problem with your apache server, is his port (80) being used by other program? Maybe you have some firewall trying to block it, check your permissions.
