Help with conventions.

Posted 17 September 2012 - 05:08 AM

Hey guys, I've been programming in Java for the past 18 months~, and the coding conventions have even started showing in my day to day writing on paper.

I've offered up my old php skills to help out a friend, and my page is full of Java coding conventions. :( Does anyone have any links to where I can re-learn the conventions?

I would strongly recommend you look over some of the bigger PHP projects and see their naming conventions and coding standards, these are the two I would suggest looking over

Zend Framework
PEAR coding standards

Once you have seen how these big projects do things, you can see what works for you.

Also it may be worth noting that some companies (all of the ones I have worked with/for) have a written coding standards policy, at least in the UK.
