Apple or Android?

Posted 19 September 2012 - 05:37 AM

Are you a supporter of Apple or Android?

I like Android, and I think Android is better than Apple. They provide everyone with a good quality phone. It is a step up from an iPhone, and I think everyone gets an iPhone to say they have an iPhone.

What do you think about Apple and Android?

Ive used both---
APPLE is much nicer neat package but is very limited in its capabilities unless you pay for converting apps.
you also have to pay to get the apple dev kit

droid has a lot more potential and the apps you really need are free
free dev kit

a "supporter"

Srsly dude?

We may like one or the other, but "support"? I guess in the broad sense that the money we give for said products is what supports the companies growth. But beyond that... I don't "support" any of the companies.

Since I'm personally a hater of Apple, I would go for Android.

Did anyone else think this was silly just because it was comparing a company (Apple) to an operating system (Android)?

Personally, phone Os wise.. what ever my Katanna II runs.

Company wise I like to support companies such as http://harebrained-schemes.com, Penny-Arcade Inc, and the makers of shells and cheese.

Yeah, I noticed that.

I definitely support makers of shells and cheese.

Oh please don't be pedantic. :P You know what OP meant.

I've used both the iPhone 4 and Galaxy S3. Both are great, Apple has a better App Store in my opinion and Android has a wider array of free apps.

I want to get my hands on a Lumia with Win8 and try it out.

Yes, and it was a stupid question no matter how you ask it.

I have my eye on the Lumia 920. In theory at least, I like the idea of having my phone function as a good point-and-shoot camera. A Zeiss lens with f/2.0 allows it to compete (favorably) with many point and shoot cameras, and 8.7 megapixels is more than enough for most applications (and certainly any application I intend for a point-and-shoot).

Over the years I have had (and still do somewhere in my dark cavern of old tech) many iPods. I like the feel and openness of Android, but have no particular ill-will or hatred for Apple. It's a company that in my opinion builds excellent products (just charges too much).

Currently working with a 4th Gen. 8GB iPod Touch, Droid-X phone running Android 2.3.4, and a Motorola Xoom tablet running Android 3.2 .

Looking to upgrade my phone not too long from now (Verizon). I was looking at the new iPhone, but most of it's updates seem to have been the new device just catching up to the capabilities of current Droid/Other phones. I now am considering the new Droid RAZR MAXX, but after a little research, it may be well worth my money to wait for the Droid RAZR MAXX HD. A few days ago the release date for RAZR MAXX HD was pegged in Germany for October, so U.S. shouldn't be far around the corner.

I hope the camera is as good as it sounds, because I have the Lumia 900. It has some fancy Carl Zeiss equipment too, but the photos are "good enough", not amazing. The 4S takes better pics.

But I really am looking forward to the 920. I hope it's competitively priced (for an out-of-band upgrade).
